Today the 2 first matches in "The Beginning" was played out between Halle(T) vs. Izzachar(Z) and Pro() vs. Never(Z)!
The second match between Halle and Izzachar seemed cloned from the first one... Halle played well and made the most of his army to beat Izzachar.
Halle finally won with 2-0 after two well played quick match against a less sharp Izzachar, who said something about not having played for a few days...
In the second game Never took the first win after 8 minutes (thats´s what she said!). But the Protoss-playing Pro countered with a streak of two and took the road to the round of 8!
Very ordinary game with 3 very ordinary matches.
We will see Pro in the next round!
Tomorrow there will be 3 games! starting at 18:00!
Tehkilla vs. Herrkrabba
WCR vs. Slash
Sledge vs. Tompa
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Day two of "The Beginning"!
Three games today and we started off with HerrKrabba(Z) vs. Tehkilla(Z), where Tehkilla undisputed took the lead!
However HerrKrabba didn't give up and made a solid charge for the tie!
In the last match the hopes where high for both sides, and just as the crowd rose so did Tehkilla´s base fall!
Congratz to HerrKrabba!
Todays second game was undoubtedly THE most *lack of word* game ever!
In the first match WCR(T) had an attack struck back by the forces of Slash(T), followed by a slightly less unsuccssesful attack which crumbled Slash´s defences. WCR 1 - Slash 0
In the second match Slash had a striking ability NOT to find his enemy, in fact he didn´t find anything... But after totally diminishing WCR´s forces and destroying his main base he once again could not find his enemy. He won tho! Well played Slash!
Third and final match didn´t last as long as the prevoius two matches and after a little face-off between some Marines, WCR took the spot for the Round of 8!
Third and final game of day two! This is where Sledge(T) and Tompa(P) would compare their keyboards!
In the first match we could see the nukes fall from the sky, doing no fatal damage (no probes where injured in the scening of this match, they were all killed). Forces from both sides went back and forth between the two rivals, and after a while a slightly confused Sledge made the score, Sledge 1 - Tompa 0!
Second match was a real cliffhanger (yes, pun intended)! Where sledge rapidly took care of Tompas forces from a higher altitude.
Sledge 2 - Tompa 0! Sledge moves on!
Tomorrow´s game is
Towelie vs. iKillQuest
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Third day of the tournament!
One game today and it was between Towelie(T) and iKillQuest(P)
In the first match Towelie stuck his dirty ol´ nose so deep into iKillquest´s buisness that he had no other option than to let Towelie have the first point!
In the second match iKillquest had other plans and after a swift and brutal clash iKillquest performed a dashing maneuver and took Towelie out from 2 sides.
So the third and final match between the two opponents was upon them! And iKillquest knew how to stop Towelie!
However stopping somone isn´t very good if you don´t succeed in killing them... and the high APM-player Towelie took the score to Towelie 2 - iKillquest 1. Congratz Towelie!
Tomorrow´s games are
18:00 Oneone vs. Vrebona
20:00 ThirdEye vs. BlindBoy
There´s gonna be some real hot action tomorrow as these 4 titans clash!
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The last two matches of the round-of-16's has been played!
First off were Oneone vs Vrebona. Oneone easily held back waves off protoss units with his roaches, but when Vrebona countered with Void Rays Oneone found himself in a tight situation. He didn't manage to get out hydras fast enough and it was a GG. In the second set, that was played on Scrap Station, Oneone tried to go for mass Speedlings. He attempted a runby into Vrebonas mineral line but wasn't very succesful, and after that his inferior speedling army didn't stand much of a chance against Vrebonas combined Warpgate army. Too bad for Oneone, Gz for Vrebona!
The second match was between BlindBoy and ThirdEye. In the first set both players attacked back and forth and both displayed nice micro and harassment strategies. In the end though BlindBoy managed to take home the win. In the 2nd set ThirdEye won thanks to a creative early Thor build that took BlindBoy by surprise. In the last and final set, the ace match, ThirdEye won due to a well exectued Banshee harassment. Gz to ThirdEye for the impressing victory!
Now all the round-of-16 matches are completed, we will soon announce the dates and times for the quarter finals, so stay tuned!
